Instructions

  1. Kneaded dough:
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt well. Add the cream cheese, milk and oil, work with dough hooks / hands to form a smooth dough. Cover and let rest in a bowl for half an hour.
  3. You can actually use anything as a filling. I prefer to fill them with cream cheese, ham and cream cheese, cheese, jam, etc., depending on your taste.
  4. Here I want to introduce my favorite filling.
  5. Filling:
  6. Chop the garlic cloves into small pieces. Dice the ham (raw or smoked, smoked pork, also bacon tastes very good).
  7. Put a little oil in a pan and fry the garlic cloves in the oil until translucent. Add the diced ham and fry until it takes on a nice color. Then add the cream cheese. Mix everything well and grate hard cheese (Gouda) to taste. Mix well and let it melt, making sure that nothing burns, so cook on a low heat. Finally season, preferably with Vegeta.
  8. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of approx. 0.5 cm and cut into 16 pieces (or less) like a pizza. Distribute the filling evenly over the pieces, placing a pile of filling on the wider side and rolling it up into croissants from this side.
  9. Whisk the egg yolk with a little milk and brush the croissants with it. This is how they get a nice color.
  10. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at approx. 180 ° C for 25 - 30 minutes until golden.
  11. Best enjoyed warm.
