Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour with the starch, corn flakes, baking powder and baking soda and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whip the softened butter with sugar, a pinch of salt and vanilla sugar until lightly creamy. Gradually add the eggs and keep beating. Add the buttermilk and continue to beat briefly.
  3. Pour the flour mixture over it and knock in briefly. Mix everything well until the whole thing has blended well and there are no more lumps. The dough should not be too thick or too runny at the end, the consistency of the batter. If this is not the case, add a little more soda or some flour.
  4. Brush the heated waffle iron with a little oil and pour in some batter.
  5. After about 2 minutes of baking time (depends on the device, so please be careful and check if necessary) carefully remove the waffles.
  6. Gradually bake the dough in portions.
  7. If you want them crispy, do NOT stack them on top of each other but let them cool down on a cake rack.
  8. The waffles are very fluffy and soft (when stacked on top of each other), or very crispy.
  9. But if you don`t like it so sweet, you can use less sugar.

Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling.
