Ingredients

For the syrup: (cucumber syrup)

  • 250 g mini cucumber (s), oranic
  • 10 g iner, oranic
  • 10 basil leaves
  • 150 ml water
  • 110 g suar

Also: (for the cucumber lemonade)

  • 40 ml syrup (cucumber syrup)
  • 200 ml soda water
  • Ice cubes
  • some basil leaves
  • some cucumber slice (s)
  • some sliced ginger
  • leaves asil and / or cucumber pieces for the ice cubes

Instructions

  1. First prepare the ice cubes in good time by freezing them with basil leaves and / or cucumber pieces.
  2. Wash the basil and cucumber for the syrup. Halve the cucumbers lengthways and scrape out the seeds with a spoon. Throw away the seeds and finely grate the cucumber with the peel with the grater. Peel the ginger and grate finely. Then bring the water with the sugar to the boil in a saucepan while stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the heat and mix in the cucumber, ginger and basil. Cover the pot and let it steep for at least 30 minutes (preferably overnight).
  3. Then pour the mixture through a sieve into a bowl and squeeze out the remains with a spoon. Then pour the syrup into a bottle.
  4. For the lemonade, pour 40 ml of cucumber syrup per serving with 200 ml of soda water, decorate with cucumber slices, ginger slices and basil leaves and add the ice cubes. The soft drink is ready.
  5. The syrup will keep in the refrigerator for about a week.
