Ingredients

  • 500 g quark (curd cheese)
  • 50 g semolina
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 egg (s)
  • a bit salt
  • 60 g butter
  • 100 g breadcrumbs, toasted
  • Icing sugar (powdered sugar)

Instructions

  1. Mix the curd cheese, semolina, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt and butter together and leave to rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Bring salted water to the boil in a large saucepan, form dumplings out of the semolina with a tablespoon and let stand in the water for 10 minutes. Roll in toasted crumbs and serve with icing sugar.
  3. It goes very well with stewed plums or strawberry purée.
