Ingredients

  • 1 kg currants
  • 2 liters water
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 bottle schnapps (grain)
  • 125 ml rum, 54%

Instructions

  1. Sort the currants, strip them from the panicles, bring to the boil with the water and cook for 15 minutes. Let it run through a sieve. Mix the sugar and vanilla sugar with the hot juice and let stand overnight. Add the grain and rum and fill into bottles.
  2. Instead of currants, you can also use raspberries, sour cherries, elderberries and blackberries.
