Ingredients

  • 1 ½ kg pork schnitzel
  • 3 clove (s) garlic
  • 3 tablespoon spice mix (gyros spice)
  • 6 tablespoon oil
  • 600 ml cream
  • 5 large onion (s)
  • 6 bell pepper (s)
  • 2 chilli pepper (s)
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 500 ml sauce, (gypsy sauce)
  • 1 liter broth
  • 500 ml chilli sauce
  • 200 g processed cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • thyme

Instructions

  1. Cut the meat into thin, not too long strips. Mix the oil with the gyros spice and squeeze in the garlic cloves, stir everything well, add to the meat and marinate for at least 4 hours.
  2. Fry the meat well in portions in a pan and place in a large dish. Pour the cream over the meat and place in the refrigerator overnight.
  3. Peel the onions and cut into thin slices. Wash, clean and core the paprika and chilli peppers, cut into thin slices or strips and sauté in oil.
  4. Add the broth and bring to the boil, simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Add the chilli sauce, gypsy sauce, processed cheese and the marinated meat to the soup and bring to the boil while stirring until the cheese has dissolved.
  6. Season the gyro soup with salt, pepper and thyme.
  7. Tip: you can also add a can of corn, it also tastes delicious
  8. If you like it a little hotter, season it with Sambal Olek and Tabasco.
