Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 175 g flour
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 tablespoon water, cold

For covering:

  • 90 g butter
  • 90 g suar
  • 1 egg (s), mixed together
  • 90 g almond (s), round
  • 30 grams flour
  • 30 ml orange blossom water
  • 12 piece (s) date (s), pitted and halved
  • 60 ml apricot jam or orange

Instructions

  1. Dough:
  2. Use the flour, butter, egg and water to make a shortcrust portion. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface to approx. 3mm and line a tart pan with it. Pierce with a fork and refrigerate until it is needed for further processing.
  3. Filling:
  4. Mix the butter and sugar with the mixer until creamy, then add the beaten egg. Mix to a smooth cream. Now add the almonds, flour and approx. 15 ml orange blossom water and stir everything well. Distribute the mixture evenly on the dough. Now place the dates with the cut side down in a decorative arrangement on the mass. Bake at 180 degrees for about 25 minutes. Be careful not to get too dark the surface!
  5. Let the tart cool on a wire rack.
  6. In the meantime, carefully heat the jam and press it through a sieve. Then mix with the rest of the orange blossom water and brush the tart with the mixture. Let it dry and serve at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or cream.
