Ingredients

  • 3 large onion (s), diced
  • 4 large potatoes, waxy
  • 250 g chicken breast
  • 1 ½ liters water
  • 0.5 tube ½ tomato paste
  • 1 packet tomato sauce with herbs, ready-made product
  • 4 tablespoon peanut butter (peanut paste)
  • 2 teaspoons soup seasoning
  • Sambal Oelek
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, noble sweet
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions into small cubes. Peel the potatoes and cut into bite-sized pieces. Wash the chicken, pat dry and also cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Sear the meat briefly in a little oil and season with salt, pepper and paprika powder. Then also add the onions and potatoes to the pot and fry them for about 5 minutes (I always use a 3 liter casserole here). Add 500 ml of water and the tomato sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes, stir every now and then and add water if necessary.
  3. Then add the peanut paste and tomato paste. If the mixture becomes too creamy, simply pour in some water again. Add the soup seasoning and let the stew simmer for about 30 minutes until the potatoes are tender. Stir every now and then. A teaspoon of Sambal Oelek can be added to taste.
  4. Couscous goes best with it.
