Ingredients

  • 600 g squid (s) (calamares), cut into rins
  • 4 clove (s) garlic, sliced
  • 3 onion (s), cut into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3 tomato (s), diced
  • 200 ml white wine, dry
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon paprika powder, noble sweet
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. If you haven`t already bought the calamares, cut them into rings and cook them in a saucepan with water for about 3-5 minutes until they are soft.
  2. Meanwhile, lightly sweat the garlic cut into leaves in three tablespoons of olive oil, then add the onion strips and simmer for 10-15 minutes with the saucepan closed. Stir occasionally. Stir in tomato paste, add diced tomatoes, white wine, bay leaves and paprika powder. Simmer over medium heat until the tomato and onion mixture has the preferred consistency.
  3. Now add the squid rings, along with some of the cooking stock, and mix with the tomato sauce. Salt and pepper.
  4. A delicious snack with a fresh baguette and a glass of wine.
