Ingredients

  • 500 g red cabbae, finely sliced
  • 1 large onion (s), red, finely diced
  • 2 oranges (or grapefruits), filleted
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 2 banana (s), sliced

For the dressing:

  • 1 orange (s), the juice
  • 1 lime (s), the juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon oil, (walnut oil)
  • 2 tablespoon oil, (sunflower oil)
  • salt and pepper
  • Walnuts, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Finely slice the red cabbage with the food processor, finely dice the onion and mix the two together.
  2. Prepare the fruity ingredients of the salad in a separate, larger bowl:
  3. Squeeze out the juice of one orange and one lime and have it ready.
  4. Cut the apples in the skin, but removed from the core, into small cubes.
  5. Halve the oranges (or grapefruits) and lift out the fruit fillets with a grapefruit spoon.
  6. Add orange and lime juice, honey, walnut and sunflower oil, as well as salt and pepper and stir.
  7. Finally fold in the sliced bananas.
  8. Now, little by little, fold the red cabbage / onion mixture under the fruits and place in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours.
  9. For serving, cover the salad with walnut halves and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  10. Like almost all salads with cabbage, this one tastes even better on the second day.
