Dutch Waffles with Caramel

I suggest you treat yourself to a delicious, hearty and incredibly tasty dessert. Here is a very simple option on how to make Dutch waffles with caramel

Ingredients

  • Butter – 290 grams (30 grams in caramel, 260 in dough)
  • Sugar – 300 Grams (250 grams in caramel, 50 – dough)
  • Yeast – 1 Teaspoon
  • Flour – 3-5 Art. spoons
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Cinnamon – 1 Pinch
  • Cream – 1 Glass

Directions

  1.  To prepare the dough, you need to combine yeast with sugar and pour in about 3 tablespoons of water.
  2. Grind butter with cinnamon and a spoonful of sugar until smooth. If desired, vanillin can be used in the recipe for making Dutch waffles with caramel. It is better to take softened butter, but do not heat it first.
  3. Combine butter with yeast and stir vigorously. Then add flour sifted with salt in small portions.
  4. Knead a soft homogeneous dough and heat it up with a clean towel.
  5. Lubricate the waffle iron with a little oil and heat well. Roll the dough into small balls and place in a waffle iron.
  6. Fry until golden brown. Then carefully remove and set aside, continuing to fry the waffles until the end of the dough.
  7. To prepare caramel, pour sugar into a frying pan and put it on fire. Heat it gradually, stirring with a wooden spatula, until it is completely melted. You can also use honey instead of sugar.
  8. Pour the cream in a thin stream, stirring constantly. Boil the caramel until thick and beautiful in color, then immediately remove from heat and pour into any container.
  9. Grease the waffle with cooled caramel, and cover the second on top. It is better to place a press on top (a plate, for example) and leave to soak for a couple of hours. You can also serve Dutch waffles with caramel at home by simply pouring caramel on top.
