Ingredients

  • 250 g raisins, unsulphurized
  • 100 g rock suar (Kluntje)
  • 700 ml brandy (East Frisian brandy)
  • 1 shot arrak or rum

Instructions

  1. Wash the raisins, dry them and put them in a large container. Sprinkle the Kluntje over it, fill up with brandy and round off with a dash of arrak or rum.
  2. Let it steep for 14 days until the raisins are soaked with brandy. Stir the raisins every now and then or turn the glasses upside down in between.
  3. In East Frisia, this drink is served on the occasion of the birth of a child. Bean soup is essential for an East Frisian cake.
