Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 pack dry yeast
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 125 g suar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon peel
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 125 g raisins
  • 75 g butter
  • 250 g quark

  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour, yeast, egg, sugar, lemon zest and salt.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add quark and 100 ml water, stir and warm to lukewarm. Add the mixture with the raisins to the flour. Knead everything with the dough hook of the hand mixer and then with your hands to form a smooth dough. Cover with a slightly damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Knead the dough briefly and weave it into a plait or shape it into a loaf of bread. Cover the Easter cake and let rise for another 15 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 190 ° C top / bottom heat.
  5. Mix the egg yolks with milk. Spread the Easter cake and bake in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes on the middle shelf until golden brown.
