Let’s cook a delicious and simple dessert from Spain!
Cook: 20 mins
Ingredients
Water – 250 ml
Wheat flour – 150 g
Butter – 100 g
Eggs – 3 pcs.
Salt – 1 pinch
Sunflower oil – 150 ml for frying
For the topping:
Powdered sugar – 50 g
Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon.
Directions
Pour water and put the butter into a saucepan with a thick bottom. Melt the butter in the water over medium heat. The water should not boil.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the flour. Mix the mass immediately and fast.
Add the eggs one by one into the dough. Beat 1 egg and mix the dough to make it smooth. Do the same with the rest of the eggs. Mix the dough well.
Pour in a lot of sunflower oil for deep frying into another saucepan or a frying pan with high sides. Let the oil heat up.
Fill a pastry bag with the dough. Prepare the plate and cover it with paper towels for excess fat.
Place the dough into the heated oil in long strips, curls, or whatever shape you like.
Brown the churros. Take them out with a skimmer to the plate so that the excess fat is absorbed.
When you fry all the churros, put them on another plate and sprinkle them with powdered sugar and cinnamon on top. You can also pour melted chocolate over the churros.
