Instructions

  1. Cut the aubergines, tomatoes and garlic into slices. Mix the ground beef with the Köfte spice, salt, pepper, grated onion and the chopped hot peppers and form flat meatballs.
  2. Fry the aubergines briefly on both sides in the oil and place them side by side in a baking dish. Put the meatballs on top and the tomato slices on top. Mix the Turkish tomato sauce (alternatively you can also use pizza sauce) with the garlic and pour over the meatballs and bake at 180 ° C for about 30 - 40 minutes.
  3. Rice, bulgur or baguette go well with it.
  4. This casserole is a recipe from a Turkish colleague that he had brought back with him a few times. It can be eaten hot or cold. In my opinion, it tastes better when warmed up.
  5. I`m not a fan of aubergines, but it tastes great! Garlic and hot peppers can be added as desired. I always take 2 cloves of garlic and 1 pepperoni (without seeds). It`s just a matter of taste and sharpness. Instead of eggplants, you can probably use potatoes, but I haven`t tried them yet.
