Elderberry Liqueur

Instructions

  1. Everyone knows how a man / woman picks elderberries, cuts the twigs briefly, sprays them briefly and then brings them to a boil in a little water. After the soup has boiled for about 5 minutes, it is poured through a sieve covered with a fine-meshed cloth. The still hot juice is measured out, the sugar dissolved in it, when it is only lukewarm, the bitter almond added and a little later the rum. Then the whole thing has to stand cold for a night to cool down and the liqueur is ready. Now either fill it up and let it stand or drink it with good friends. Have lots of fun with it. (From experience I can say that if the liqueur has been left for more than 3 years, it has an almost oily consistency).

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
