Ingredients

  • 1 ½ kg elderberries, already stalked
  • 3 liters water
  • 1 ½ kg sugar
  • 5 sachets vanilla sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 10 clove (s)
  • 3 bottles schnapps (double grain 0.7 liters (8%)

Instructions

  1. Bring the elderberries to the boil with the water and simmer for 60 minutes, strain and squeeze the berries well. Let the juice cool down.
  2. Bring the juice to the boil with sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and cloves and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain again and let it cool down.
  3. Mix 1 liter of juice with 1 bottle of Doppelkorn and bottle. (makes about 7 bottles of 0.7 liters each)
  4. Can be drunk immediately, but is also suitable for storage.
