Ingredients

  • 1 lemon (s), untreated
  • 1 piece (s) ginger root, about the size a thumb
  • 100 ml syrup, (elderflower syrup)
  • 3 stalks mint
  • 700 ml water, well chilled
  • Ice cubes
  • 100 g raw cane suar

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the lemon and place in a glass carafe with the peel. Peel the ginger, cut into slices and add to the lemon in the glass carafe. Wash the mint. Pluck the leaves from a stem and place in the carafe. Pour the sugar over the fruit and mint leaves and press everything down with a wooden spoon so that the juice comes out. Be careful that it doesn`t muddy. Now add the syrup and fill up with 700 ml of well-chilled water. Mix well.
  2. Add the two remaining mint stalks and refrigerate the lemonade for 1 - 2 hours and let it steep.
  3. Caution: Always stir gently before pouring into glasses so that the undissolved sugar is whirled up and mixed with the soda. If you like, you can decorate the glasses with mint stalks.
  4. You can refill the soda two or three times with syrup and water in a ratio of 1: 7.
