Ingredients

  • 30 g millet
  • 200 ml milk
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 2 tablespoon jam, e.g., Rhubarb and strawberry jam or plum jam, turnip tops

Instructions

  1. Mix the cold milk with the water in a saucepan and sprinkle with the washed millet. Bring to the boil while stirring, add a pinch of salt and simmer gently in an open saucepan for about 15 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Then allow the porridge to swell a little more.
  2. While the porridge is boiling, the whole kitchen smells like a fairy tale, hence the porridge got its name.
  3. Mix the jam or plum jam with a little water and heat. The additional water is usually not necessary for compote. Pour the millet porridge into a deep plate and pour the sauce over it. Turnip tops can simply be poured over the finished pulp without being heated.
  4. The amount of ingredients is calculated for one serving, for example four times the amount is required for four people.
