Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 175 g flour
  • 113 g butter, soft
  • 60 g water, cold
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt

For covering:

  • 4 fig (s)
  • 125 g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 55 g honey
  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

Instructions

  1. Make a dough from the first 5 ingredients and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat.
  3. Cut the figs into approx. 1 - 1.5 cm thick slices. For the filling, mix the honey and cream cheese together.
  4. Roll out the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. You could also use your hands to press the dough into the correct shape, approx. 26-30 cm in diameter.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the dough, leaving an approx. 3 cm wide border all around. Then distribute the figs on the filling. Fold the edge over and press it down lightly. Brush the edge of the galette with about egg yolk and bake for about 25 - 30 minutes on the middle rack. Please keep in mind that every oven is different and the baking time can be different for everyone. For example, for me it was only 20 minutes of baking time. It is best to check the galette every now and then.
  6. The galette tastes great in combination with vanilla ice cream.
