Instructions

  1. First mix the kefir with salt, sugar and baking powder. Then mix in the cheese and flour. It`s hard to say how much flour you need, the dough needs to be pliable and stick a little to your hands, then it`s just right. Cover the bowl with the dough with a cloth and let it rest a little (approx. 15 minutes).
  2. During this time I will prepare the filling. Dice the ham, finely chop the parsley and dill, crumble the feta, if the mozzarella is used, dice.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 portions and roll out each portion on the well-floured table to the size of a plate, always working with the flour, otherwise the dough will stick to the table. Now distribute the ham, cheese and herbs in the middle of the flatbreads and fold the edges of the dough into the center and roll out again to the same size.
  4. Heat the oil in the pan with a lid but do not let it get too hot, fry the flatbreads on both sides until golden brown (approx. 10 min.). Serve immediately, tastes best warm.
  5. A green salad goes well with it.
  6. The best thing about the flatbreads is that you can vary the filling. For example, tuna with red onions and grated cheese or mushrooms with cheese, or other vegetables.
