Finnish Potato Cake

If you suddenly have little mashed potatoes lying around, and you do not know where to apply them, this recipe will help you get out of the situation. Potato tortillas are best served hot. Also, tortillas can be an excellent substitute for regular bread.

Ingredients

  • Mashed potatoes – 400 g
  • Sunflower oil – 50 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc. (half for dough, half for greasing)
  • Salt to taste
  • Flour – 160 gr + for kneading
  • Hops-suneli – 1/2 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds – 2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Add half an egg, butter, flour, salt, spices to mashed potatoes. Knead a soft dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured table. The mass comes out liquidize. Divide into three equal parts. From this amount of dough, three large or 5 small cakes can be formed. If you wish, you can roll out the base 0.5 cm thick and form circles with the help of a glass. So they come out more accurate.
  3. Place the cakes on a baking sheet covered with parchment in advance. Brush the scones with the rest of the egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Send to a well-preheated oven for 20 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees. Or bake until your tortillas are brown enough.
