Fish Casserole with Mushrooms

A very interesting recipe for a fish casserole with mushrooms. The fish and mushroom mince is placed on a layer of potatoes and poured with sour cream filling with spices, everything is baked in the oven and you get a great dish!

Ingredients

  • Fish fillet – 500 g
  • Champignon mushrooms – 300 g
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Potatoes – 350 g
  • Sour cream – 200 g
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Juniper berries – 1 teaspoon
  • Ground pepper – to taste
  • Fennel seeds – pinch
  • Thyme – a pinch
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

Directions

  1. For minced meat, we need mushrooms and onions. We will cut them randomly for subsequent roasting.
  2. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and put butter. We heat up. The butter should melt. Then fry the onion with mushrooms until golden brown.
  3. While the fried mushrooms and onions are cooling, we will make a sour cream filling for the fish casserole. Combine sour cream, chicken egg, salt, pepper, thyme, fennel seeds, and juniper berries.
  4. Twist the fish fillet in a meat grinder along with fried mushrooms and onions. I often buy ready-made minced fish, so I just add mushrooms and onions twisted in a meat grinder to it. Be sure to salt the whole mass and add ground pepper. Let’s mix everything well.
  5. Peel the potatoes, wash them, cut them into very thin plates no thicker than 2-3 mm. Grease the baking dish well with butter.
  6. We put potatoes first. You don’t need a lot of it for a casserole, the main part of this dish is precisely the fish layer. Lightly add a layer of potatoes. Put the minced fish with mushrooms on top of the potatoes. We level.
  7. Fill everything with sour cream filling. We send the form into an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. We take out the finished casserole from the oven. We cut it into portions and serve it hot. Fish casserole with mushrooms turns out to be very tasty, I advise you to try it too!
