Instructions

  1. You can use bread from the day before or even before, it just shouldn`t be too hard. Either cut the baguette into oblique slices, 2-3 cm thick, or into sections and then cut them in half crosswise.
  2. Preheat the oven to 225 ° C (I preheat without convection and then bake with convection) and place on a sheet of baking paper. Put the bread on top.
  3. Now spread a thick layer of sour cream or cream cheese or both on each bread, add a little salt and pepper and sprinkle a pinch of chilli on top. Spread the onions and cheese on top. This takes some care because you can`t just sprinkle it or it won`t be well distributed. The bacon is on top, then it becomes spicier and crispy better.
  4. And now the tray is placed in the oven, which is now hot, in the lower third, and remains there for 12-15 minutes. That depends on how crispy you want the bread and what the oven is, just keep an eye on it towards the end.
  5. Tip for the game evening or children`s birthday party: simply prepare a large amount and keep it covered with cling film in the refrigerator. Will not be complete even in a couple of hours. The breads taste best when they are lukewarm.
