French Toast with Orange and Lemon Peel

On a weekend, make yourself some aromatic toast with orange juice, lemon zest and cognac. This is a great option for breakfast or afternoon tea. Also add vanillin, cinnamon, and nutmeg for flavor.

Ingredients

  • Eggs – 2 Pieces
  • Milk – 1/2 Cup
  • Orange juice – 3 Tbsp. spoons
  • Vanillin – 1 Pinch
  • Cognac – 2 Art. spoons
  • Sugar – 1 Teaspoon
  • Lemon zest – 1
  • Ground cinnamon – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Nutmeg – 1 Pinch
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • White Bread – 6 Slices
  • Butter – 2 Tbsp. spoons

Directions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients. Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  2. Beat eggs lightly with a fork. Add milk, orange juice, cognac, lemon zest, vanillin, sugar, salt, ground cinnamon, grated nutmeg and stir.
  3. Dip slices of bread on both sides in the egg-milk mixture, let them soak.
  4. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 10 minutes or fry over medium heat on both sides until golden brown.
