  • White cabbage – 1.5 Kilograms
  • Chicken – 700 Grams
  • Carrots – 1 Piece
  • Onion – 1 Piece
  • Vegetable oil – 3-4 Art. spoons
  • Salt – 0.5 Art. spoons (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper – 2-3 Pinch
  • Garlic – 3-4 Cloves (optional)

Fresh Stewed Cabbage with Chicken Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken and cut it into small pieces. We heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, in a thick-walled saucepan or in a cauldron, put chicken pieces in it.
  2. The chicken should be fried here until about this state. The rosy chicken pieces are halfway done.
  3. We clean onions and carrots. Grate the carrots, and cut the onion into cubes or half rings. Add vegetables to the chicken, stir and fry for 7-8 minutes.

  4. We shred cabbage smaller: this way it will cook faster. We remove the thickenings on the stems, they will only spoil the dish for us. Sprinkle the cabbage with one or two pinches of salt, remember it well, let it let the juice go. Add the cabbage to the chicken.
  5. Now add about half a glass of water, add salt and spices, mix. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer until tender, it will take about 40 minutes. If you want to get the cabbage as it were drier, open the lid: let the liquid evaporate during stewing. But make sure that the cabbage does not burn! Minutes 5-10 before readiness, you can add chopped garlic to the cabbage.
