Fried Spinach with Suluguni

The idea of ​​combining spinach and salted cheese is brilliant! Spinach and suluguni are simply made for each other, the dish turns out to be tender and melting in the mouth.

Ingredients

  • Spinach – 250 g
  • Suluguni cheese – 130 g
  • Bulb onions – 0.5 pcs. (70 g)
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Sunflower oil – 2 tbsp (30 ml)
  • Salt – a pinch

Directions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients.
  2. Rinse the spinach leaves in cold water, remove the tough stems and transfer the spinach to a deep bowl or saucepan. Pour boiling water over the spinach for 2 minutes.
  3. Then put the spinach leaves in cold water for 30 seconds.
  4. Squeeze the spinach out of the liquid and chop coarsely.
  5. Peel the onion and garlic. Cut the onion into small cubes. Chop the garlic finely.
  6. Heat sunflower or olive oil in a skillet. Fry the onion for 3 minutes over medium heat, then add the garlic to the onion and fry everything together for another 15 seconds.
  7. Transfer the spinach to the skillet and add a pinch of salt. In principle, suluguni is a rather salty cheese, so you don’t need to add salt at all.
  8. Sauté the spinach for about a minute, stirring occasionally.
  9. Cut the suluguni cheese into cubes or slices if the cheese is in the form of sticks.
  10. Place the suluguni on top of the spinach.
  11. Cover the skillet with a lid, reduce heat to low, and wait for the cheese to melt.
  12. Spinach with suluguni is not only an independent dish but also an excellent addition to pasta. Serve immediately after cooking.
