Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples and pears and cut them into cubes, place in a saucepan and bring to the boil with a little water (should not be completely in the water, about halfway), then steam until the cubes are soft. Peel the bananas, cut off both ends a little, then add slices to the steamed cubes and puree everything thoroughly, depending on the age of the child. (Children with teeth may prefer it a little coarser). Fill in portions, allow to cool and freeze.
  2. Attention:
  3. Bananas can cause constipation and are only recommended for ages 8 months and over.
  4. I tried the porridge with peach instead of pears, which was also very well received, but the child should have tried at least two types of fruit beforehand, especially if they are at risk of allergies.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
