Ingredients

  • 300 g chicken breast, cut into strips
  • 4 tablespoon water, hot
  • 1 tablespoon clarified butter
  • 1 onion (s), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder, possibly
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ spice mix (Garam Masala)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 clove (s) garlic, pressed
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cumin, ground
  • 3 tablespoon natural yogurt
  • some milk, possibly
  • 2 leaves mint, fresh, chopped or
  • chives

Instructions

  1. Mix the chili powder, coriander, garam masala, salt, ginger and garlic together well and mix with 4 tablespoons of hot water. Then let the mixture steep.
  2. Gently sweat the onions, cardamom and cumin in the hot clarified butter. When the onions take on color, add the prepared spice mixture and simmer over a low heat for about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the meat and cover well with the spice mixture. Fold in the yoghurt and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Simmer again on the lowest heat for about 25 minutes until the meat is tender. Sprinkle with mint or chives before serving.
