Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 1 glass yogurt
  • 1 glass oil
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 250 g butter or mararine
  • 1 glass walnuts, ground
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 500g flour
  • Fat for the shape

For the topping: (syrup)

  • 4 glasses water
  • 2 ½ glasses sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 clove (s)
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 0.5 ½ small lemon (s), add the juice

Instructions

  1. For the dough, make a dough from the ingredients and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Divide the dough into about 3 parts, roll out approx. 5 mm thick and cut out circles with a Turkish tea glass (diameter 6 cm). Lay 3 circles on top of each other, roll up and cut through the middle.
  2. The roses are placed on a greased dish, a tepsi (a round baking sheet) is best, but a large baking dish also works. The recipe is designed so that all roses fit on a Tepsi with a diameter of 36 cm. Now the roses are baked in a preheated oven at 150 ° C for 30 minutes.
  3. For the syrup, put the cinnamon stick and the cloves in a tea filter, simmer all ingredients in an open pot for 15 minutes. Foam forms, which must be removed. Finally, add the juice of half a (small) lemon and let it simmer briefly.
  4. Do not pour the syrup onto the roses very hot so that the tips are still sticking out. Let it steep for 1 day.
