Instructions

  1. Put the meat in a saucepan with the water and salt, the meat should be completely covered by the water. Let it simmer gently for about an hour.
  2. In the meantime, peel and dice the potatoes. If fresh beans are used, cut off the tips and cut the beans into bite-sized pieces. For the sake of simplicity, I take the beans straight from the freezer, they are already cut.
  3. After the hour, take the meat out of the water and add the potato cubes. Turn up the stove so the potatoes cook properly.
  4. Separate the rind from the meat and cut the rest into bite-sized pieces, then set aside for the time being.
  5. After about 10 minutes, the potato cubes should be done. Turn the stove down again. Mash the potatoes in the water, you can leave a few cubes whole. Then add the meat, beans, stock and savory and simmer for another 20 minutes.
  6. Personally, I like it better when everything is cooked down nicely. So if there is enough time, leave the pot on the stove a little longer.
