Ingredients

  • 4 rolls, stale
  • 500 ml milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 1 pinch baking powder
  • 1 egg (s)
  • flour

Instructions

  1. Soak the rolls in milk for about 1 hour. Then stir with a fork until it becomes a paste. Now stir in the remaining ingredients. Add enough flour so that the fork stays in the dough. Then the right consistency is achieved.
  2. In the meantime, bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. In portions, preferably with a large spoon, pour the dough into the boiling water. When the dumplings start to swim after approx. 10-15 minutes, they can be taken out and served with applesauce or morello cherries, for example.
