Ingredients

  • 1 kg Kasseler ribs
  • 3 leeks
  • salt
  • 1 cup pearl barley
  • 1 kg potato (s)
  • possibly sausage (Mettwurst)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Kassel rib in unsalted water for about 1.5 hours, then remove and cook the leek, pearl barley and the peeled and diced potatoes for another hour (put the Kassel rib on top), season to taste.
  2. Mettwurst also tastes very good with soup. Excellent if you are busy cleaning the house.
  3. Freezes well.
