Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 50 g butter
  • 500 g turnip (s) (Teltower turnips)
  • 0.25 liter ¼ broth
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel (or scrape) the turnips. Halve small ones, quarter larger ones. Let the sugar melt in the pot. When it is nice and brown, take the pan off the stove and add the butter. Once the sugar has dissolved, put the pot back on the stove, add the turnips and let them brown as well. Then dust with flour and deglaze with the stock. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes. Finally, season with salt and pepper.
  2. Goes well with duck breast, smoked pork or steak.
