Ingredients

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 150 g pork belly, smoked, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion (s)
  • 3 clove (s) garlic
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 teaspoon chilli salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, hot
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and garlic finely (or use a food processor) and mix with the minced meat. Add the chilli salt, both paprika powders, and pepper. Beat in the egg and knead the mixture well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  2. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Divide the chilled meat mixture into 5 equal portions and shape each into a roll about 15 cm (6 in) long and 3 cm (1.2 in) in diameter.
  4. Wrap each meat roll thinly with the smoked pork belly slices.
  5. Thread each wrapped roll onto a soaked wooden skewer.
  6. Grill over medium heat for 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 63 °C (145 °F).
  7. Serve with ajvar or tzatziki and chopped onions if desired.
