Ingredients

  • 150 g butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 150 g cheese (Gruyère), flavorful, spicy
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch baking powder
  • 250 g flour
  • possibly caraway

Instructions

  1. Mix the butter, salt, cheese, water and egg yolk well together. Mix baking powder and flour and add. Combine to form a dough with a trowel or a spatula. Do not knead. Shape into rolls and chill for a few hours.
  2. Cut the rolls into 5-7 mm thick slices and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in the oven preheated to 180 ° C for about 13 minutes (until they are nice and light brown).
  3. Sprinkle with caraway seeds if desired.
