Ingredients

  • 1 cup skimmed milk powder
  • 0.25 ¼ cup flour, sifted
  • 3 tablespoon ghee (or butter)
  • 0.25 ¼ cup milk, room temperature
  • 1 pinch baking powder
  • 0.25 ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cardamom, whole capsule
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 stick / s fat (frying fat)

Instructions

  1. Place a small saucepan on the stove for the syrup and bring the sugar, water, cardamom capsule and rose water to a boil. Cook for about 5 minutes, then keep warm on the lowest setting.
  2. When the syrup is on, you can mix the skimmed milk powder, flour, ghee, milk and baking powder into a dough by hand.
  3. Heat the frying fat on a low level, the balls should not brown too quickly. Shape the dough into small balls, slightly smaller than ping-pong balls, and place in the frying fat. Slowly fry until dark brown, turning constantly.
  4. The slightly cooled balls are now placed in the syrup and left there for 5 to 10 minutes and turned over and over again.
  5. They are served warm, on a bowl, in syrup. However, they can also be eaten cold.
