Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried

  • 1 kg pork, sliced, (gyros)
  • 75 g cheese (Gouda cheese, rated)
  • 100 g whipped cream
  • 200 g sour cream or crème fraiche
  • 1 pinch (s) sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel and dice the onions. Sauté in the hot oil in the saucepan. Dust with sweet paprika. Add the sauerkraut and oregano. Pluck the sauerkraut apart and sauté while turning. Deglaze with 1/8 l of water. Bring to the boil and stew covered for approx. 15 minutes. To taste.
  2. Fry the meat in a pan without fat for 5-8 minutes while turning.
  3. Mix the grated cheese with the cream and sour cream.
  4. Put the sauerkraut in a greased casserole dish (approx. 30 cm long). Spread the meat on top and pour the sour cream on top. Bake in the preheated oven (electric stove: 175 ° C / convection: 150 ° C / gas: level 2) for 25-30 minutes.
