Ingredients

  • 6 slices cooked ham
  • 6 slices Gouda cheese
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 6 teaspoons flour
  • 3 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Place flour in the first plate, whisked egg in the second plate, and breadcrumbs in the third plate to set up a breading station.
  2. Heat a coated pan with a small amount of vegetable oil on medium heat (level 5-6 out of 9) until shimmering.
  3. Place a slice of cheese on one half of each ham slice and fold the other half over to completely enclose the cheese.
  4. Coat each ham pocket in flour on both sides, shaking off excess, then dip in egg, allow excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
  5. Fry the breaded ham pockets on both sides for 2-3 minutes each until golden brown.
