Ingredients

  • 200 g cheese (hand cheese)
  • 100 ml apple cider
  • 50 ml vinegar (apple cider vinegar or wine vinegar)
  • 1 small onion (s)
  • pepper
  • Caraway

Instructions

  1. Cut the hand cheese into pieces about 1 to 2 cm thick. Then put in a container together with the apple cider and apple cider vinegar. Add the finely diced onion with pepper as desired and, if necessary, add caraway seeds (whole or ground). Mix everything well and let it steep for about 20 minutes to 2 hours.
  2. Serve with bread and butter.
  3. Note: The apple cider makes the marinade soak through more quickly. The addition of oil is not required. This turns this dish into a protein donor with little calorific value.
  4. Hand cheese contains 27% protein and only 0.5% fat. No carbohydrates. The protein composition is very high quality. An ideal diet dish.
  5. Tip: You can save marinade by placing the hand cheese in a bag. The marinade can also be used again.
