Ingredients

  • 6 herring fillet (s)
  • 1 small onion (s)
  • 4 pickled cucumber (s)
  • 4 cherry tomato (s)
  • 0.5 ½ lemon (n)
  • 1 small apple, sweet
  • 2 tablespoon linseed oil
  • pepper
  • 1 small Bunch leaf parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ sugar

Instructions

  1. First cut the herring into small pieces, as well as the cucumber, tomatoes and the apple. Dice the onion as well, but finer.
  2. Put everything together in a bowl and mix. Add the juice of a small half lemon, a little peel and the linseed oil and half a teaspoon of sugar. Do not be frugal with the pepper mill. Finally, finely chop leaf parsley and stir in as well. There should be some liquid at the bottom of the bowl. If it is not enough, add some of the cucumber water. If you take herring from a package, use the brew with it.
  3. Let everything stand in the refrigerator for a good 24 hours or at least overnight and stir every now and then when you are at the refrigerator anyway.
  4. Pumpernickel or black bread with butter or jacket potatoes and quark go best with this!
