Healthy Toast with Berries (for Breakfast)

by Editorial Staff

I spied the recipe for such a healthy and tasty breakfast from Jamie Oliver. Toast is made from multigrain bread and berries. Banana serves as a sweetener.

Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • Multigrain bread – 1 slice (3 cm thick)
  • Fresh or frozen berries (I have blueberries) – 1 tbsp
  • Banana – 1/2 pc.
  • Milk – 1 tbsp
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Cinnamon (optional) – 1 pinch
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine chopped banana, milk, and egg (you can add a pinch of cinnamon).
  2. Kill the mixture well and pour into a plate.
  3. Place a slice of multi-grain bread vertically and make a deep cut with a sharp thin knife, leaving a few millimeters on each side (see photo), i.e. get a “pocket” in which the filling fits freely.
  4. Put the berries in the resulting “pocket”.
  5. Dip the bread with berries in the egg and milk mixture, pressing down lightly.
  6. Leave the bread in a banana layer on each side for 2 minutes.
  7. In a small skillet, heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Saute the multigrain toast with berries in hot oil for about 3 minutes on each side over low heat.

Enjoy your meal!
