Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 100 g quark
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 150 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For covering:

  • 500 g white cabbae
  • 2 onions)
  • 2 apples, tart ones
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • salt and pepper
  • 250 g cheese, Emmentaler
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 200 g sour cream
  • vinegar
  • sugar
  • chili

Instructions

  1. Wash the cabbage, cut into fine strips. Peel the onions, apples and garlic and cut into fine strips or pieces. Now put the cabbage, apples, onions and garlic in a saucepan, cover with water, add the spices and cook like Bavarian cabbage (about 20 minutes) and then leave to cool. Then pour off the cooking water.

  3. Mix the quark, egg, oil and salt, then add the flour and baking powder and knead to form a dough. Wrapped in a foil, leave to rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Then put the dough in a springform pan greased with 24 mm.
  5. Cut the cheese into small cubes (1 cm), whisk the eggs with the sour cream and chilli and mix with the drained cabbage. Then distribute the whole thing on the dough, sprinkle the cheese over it.
  6. Bake the cake in the oven preheated to 200 degrees on the middle rack for 30 - 40 minutes until the cake has a golden-yellow, crispy surface.
  7. It works with grated cheese too, of course. The cake tastes warm and cold.
