Herring Appetizer

Herring appetizer is an Estonian dish called terendis or tarretis, light sour cream aspic with salted herring, onions and fresh cucumbers.

- Ingredients for making herring snacks.
- Dissolve gelatin in water and leave for 15 minutes to swell. Then put in a water bath and, stirring, bring the gelatin until completely dissolved.
- Finely chop the green onion.
- Peel the cucumbers and cut into cubes.
- Cut the skin and bones of the herring fillet into cubes.
- Mix everything.
- Mix sour cream with diluted gelatin into a homogeneous mass without lumps.
- Pour sour cream into a bowl with herring and cucumbers.
- Stir, salt and pepper to taste.
- Arrange the herring appetizer in portioned glasses and refrigerate until the sour cream jelly hardens.A delicious herring appetizer is ready.
