An alternative to the well-known and beloved forshmak is herring and cottage cheese pate. Easier to prepare, with fewer ingredients, and taste great. Great spread for sandwiches!

Ingredients
Lightly salted herring – 400 g
Cottage cheese – 200 g
Sour cream – 100 g
Green onions – 2-3 pcs. (40 g)
For the filling (optional):
Bread – 8-9 slices (300 g)
Directions
Separate the herring fillet from the bones and cut it into small pieces.
Rinse green onions, dry, and chop finely with a knife.
Combine herring fillets and cottage cheese in a blender bowl.
Whisk on high speed for about 3-4 minutes, until smooth.
Combine the herring-curd mass, sour cream, and green onions in a bowl (if desired, a little green onion can be set aside for serving). Stir the pate thoroughly.
