Herring Sandwich Ingredients

  • Baguette – 1 pc.
  • Pickled herring fillet – 2 pcs. (two halves of a herring)
  • Small tomatoes – 4 pcs.
  • Green olives – 8 pcs.
  • Hot red pepper, fresh – 1 pc. (taste)
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Olive oil – to taste

  1. Crumple and straighten a sheet of parchment (to make it softer and more pliable). Put the herring fillet on it.
  2. Cut the fillet lengthwise into thin strips.
  3. Cut hot peppers into thin rings. Cut olives into rings.
  4. Cut the baguette.

  5. Cut the tomatoes into slices (not very thin).
  6. Place the baguette slices on a serving plate. Drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Put the tomatoes on the bread.

  8. Place a strip of herring around each tomato circle. Top with a ring of olives and a ring of red pepper.
