Ingredients

  • 1 small Jar mayonnaise
  • 1 cup cream
  • 2 medium onion (s)
  • 2 apples, sour (e.g. Cox, Boskoop)
  • 1 bunch dill, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • sugar
  • 3 pickled cucumber (s)
  • 1 glass fish fillet (s) (Bismarck herring)
  • lemon juice or vinegar
  • 800 g potato (s), small (e.. triplets)

Instructions

  1. Take the herrings out of the glass and let them drain, then set aside the infusion. Mix the mayonnaise and the cream with the cut dill, stir in some of the infusion to taste.
  2. Peel the onions and apples. Cut the onions into fine rings. Roughly grate the apples, drizzle with a little lemon juice, mix both into the sauce, season with salt, pepper and sugar.
  3. Cut the herring into bite-sized pieces, add it to the sauce and let it steep for at least 5 hours. Boil jacket potatoes and serve with them.
