Delicious light-salted herring at home. Making a great fresh frozen herring snack is quick and easy.

Ingredients

  • Fresh frozen herring – 2 pcs.
  • Red onion – 2 pcs.
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Homemade sunflower oil – 150 ml
  • Mustard beans – 1-2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1-2 teaspoon.
  • Sugar – 0.5-1 teaspoon.
  • Peppercorns

Directions

  1. Defrost the herring, but not completely. Cut off the head, remove the entrails, wash.
  2. Cut the onions into rings, carrots into slices, herring into slices.
  3. In a glass container, alternating, lay out in layers: onions, carrots, mustard, pepper, herring, salt, sugar
  4. Fill with vegetable oil, close the container tightly and shake. Place the herring in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours. Ready homemade herring can be served at the table.
