Homemade Alfredo Sauce

by Editorial Staff

Alfredo sauce came to us from Rome. It is a velvety blend of butter, parmesan cheese, and heavy cream. You can buy ready-made alfredo sauce at the store, but you can also make it at home. You will need a few ingredients and a little time. Gather the ingredients you need, prepare the sauce, and serve with your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

  • Butter
  • Heavy cream for whipping
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper
  • Pan
  • Wooden spoon

Directions

  1. Measure out 2 tbsp (29.57 ml) butter. You can use salted or unsalted butter, depending on your preference. Do not use margarine or butter substitute. The use of real butter is essential for alfredo sauce.
  2. Pour 1 cup heavy whipping cream into a bowl or measuring cup.
  3. Grate 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. You can grate a little more to sprinkle on pasta or whichever dish you want to serve with alfredo sauce.
  4. Keep salt and pepper handy. The amount you add depends entirely on your taste preference.

Enjoy!
