Homemade Salted Mackerel

Ingredients

  • Mackerel fish – 5 pcs.
  • Salt – 8 tbsp
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp
  • Onion peels – 3 handfuls
  • Black tea (without additives) – 3 teaspoon
  • Bay leaf – 7 pcs.
  • Allspice peas – 10 pcs.
  • Water – 2 l

Directions

  1. First, you need to peel and rinse the headless mackerel. Rinse the onion skins.
  2. To prepare the brine, add 8 tablespoons to 2 liters of water. salt, 4 tablespoon. sugar, washed onion skins, 3 teaspoon. black tea (no additives), 7 pcs. bay leaf and 1 teaspoon. allspice peas. Send on fire until boiling. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. After the brine has boiled, strain it and leave it to cool completely.
  4. After the brine has cooled completely, fill it with mackerel.
  5. After 4 days, the salted mackerel is ready to eat.
